2nd Annual Race Against Racism 5K Walk/Run

Join YWCA at Purdue Fort Wayne on April 29, 2023 where we will run, walk, and move towards a better, more just community for all! Packet pickup begins at 9:00 AM and participants can enjoy pre-race stretches facilitated by YogaSix at 9:30 AM. The race starts at 10:00 AM and medals will be awarded after the race during the award ceremony at 11:00 AM for the fastest male and female runners in the below age categories. The overall male and female champion will each receive a $50 gift card to Three Rivers Running Company and all other winners will be entered into a raffle for two additional $50 gift cards to Three Rivers Running Company. Age categories: (14 and under, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65-74, and 75+)

The Race Against Racism is a fundraiser for YWCA's racial justice efforts, which includes community events that promote racial justice through engaging conversations, learning opportunities, and collaboration with local organizations. The 2023 Race Against Racism will focus on building equitable health through education on the intersection of race and health disparities. Race participants will receive a "couch to 5K" guide to prepare for the event, and education and engagement about equitable health will be offered leading up to the event and at the event.
