Wawasee Winter Warm-Up 5K
The 3rd annual Winter Warm Up is a chip-timed 5K race that will give you a reason to stick with your training through the winter. It is a road-race through the town of Syracuse with police at major intersections and no railroad crossings. It starts and ends at the old Syracuse Elementary School, where runners will receive hot chocolate, and snacks.
Prizes will be awarded to the fastest runner in each category; and the fastest man and woman overall each win a night's stay at Oakwood. The categories are: Experienced Adult (50+) male, Experienced Adult (50+) female, Adult (16-49) male, Adult (16-49) female, Youth (15 and under) male, and Youth (15 and under) female.
Register now for $15, or day-of starting at 6:30am for $20. The race starts at 8 am sharp. Proceeds benefit the expansion of the Syracuse-Wawasee multi-use trail system.
This run is held in conjunction with the Syracuse Winter Carnival that will include snowmobile races, ice-boat rides, a polar plunge and lots of great food.
